Enough is enough. Can we please stop applauding big healthcare for funding for food pantries?


41% of people — or about 100 million adults — currently face medical debt, ranging from under $500 (16%) to $10,000 or more (12%)


Medical debt is the No. 1 reason that people file for bankruptcy


17% of Americans say they've skipped paying for food so they could cover their healthcare costs.


About 1 in 4 adults 65 or older report cutting back on at least one basic need to pay for healthcare, including 9% who reduced spending on food, 13% on over the counter drugs and 6% on basic utilities like heating.
